Our Services
Children have different dental needs than adults, and pediatric dentists are specially trained and equipped to address these issues.
Prevention is the cornerstone in pediatric dentistry. Our goal is to educate, motivate, and promote good oral health that will last a lifetime. Proper oral hygiene instruction, diet counseling and fluoride use is the key to control the most common childhood disease: dental decay. We are uniquely trained to develop a combination of office and home preventive care to insure your child a happy, healthy smile.
One of the most important services we provide is monitoring proper dental development. Improper oral habits such as mouth breathing, tongue thrusting, and thumb sucking now have been proven to have a severe effect on jaw growth and teeth alignment. These resultant orthodontic problems such as open bites, cross bites, and crowding need to be addressed before age 9 while the child is still growing. Pediatric dentists can best provide appropriate early orthodontic intervention, such as special oral appliances and retainers to correct or minimize these orthodontic problems.
Undergoing dental treatment is not always an easy thing for children. Often the most difficult part of a dental visit is the child’s anxiety, and resultant negative behaviors. As a pediatric dental facility, we can provide various behavior management options such as child appropriate communication.
